Colourful lightning, amusing crackers, mouth-watering sweets and joy of togetherness, Diwali is not just a festival but it’s a bundle of happiness for everyone. Some admires it for their love towards sweets, some cherish it for firing crackers, and some waits for it to meet their close ones. It has something for all in its bundle of happiness, a smile, some laughter, a prank, lot of love and many memories to cherish. All this reasons have made Diwali as my favorite festival since childhood. I used to love firing crackers, meet my family when I was away from them for my studies and visit my friends’ home to give them Diwali wishes. Diwali was never been just a festival for me but it has always been a source or reason for immense happiness.

But somehow now I realized or more correctly now I think that do Diwali brings happiness for everyone like me. I mean a big chunk of India’s population is suffering from poverty, there are many Indian soldiers who are unable to visit their home for Diwali Celebration and there are many parents who don’t have any children or those who have lost them in some accidents. I feel very lucky of myself when I think of all such people for whom Diwali becomes a reason of remembering the sorrows in their life rather than a festival of gaiety. The cost of happiness for us maybe few bucks for buying crackers, new dresses, sweets and other new things on Diwali. Maybe this materialistic things buy happiness for some people but for them cost of happiness is related to the feeling of belongingness, feeling of oneness, a feel of being truly loved and cared by their loved ones. So before buying happiness for us let’s give it to others first.

Let’s visit the homes of parents who miss their children to give them feeling of child love. Let’s distribute some crackers, sweets and old clothes to needy, let’s spend some time in old age homes. Let’s bring some smile to everyone’s face this Diwali, let’s make it Grand Diwali, Happiness Wali.
